Hourglass Done Emoji
⌛
What does the Hourglass Done emoji mean?
1
An hourglass nearly emptied, with most of the sand settled in the lower bulb, typically used to symbolize the passage of time or that time is running out.
2
A classic timekeeper that uses very fine dry sand to mark the passage of time. It isn’t a conventional clock — it’s more of a reverse timer. A portion of bulk material sits in the flask and empties after a set interval, for example, one minute.
As an emoji it often signifies waiting or the passage of time. This iconic symbol appears across operating systems, company logos, and many other places. You can use it as a replacement for the phrase "time has passed."
