When do new emoji reach my device?
They travel with the system update, not with the app you type in. A character approved by Unicode this year usually lands on phones over the following one or two releases.

Can I take these pictures to another device?
Copy the emoji and it travels fine — the drawing does not. Paste it anywhere outside LG and the local font redraws it.
