Mozilla

Mozilla offers its own open-source emoji set, originally designed for use in the Firefox OS mobile operating system. This collection of emojis is distributed for free and available to everyone, and that makes it an attractive option for developers and users who value transparency and freedom in using graphic elements.

Since 2015, Mozilla has actively integrated its own emojis and messaging features into Firefox OS, a mobile OS developed by the company. These emojis featured unique designs and aimed to create a distinctive user experience within the Mozilla ecosystem. For those planning to launch new projects using emojis, it’s recommended to install the latest emoji sets, which will be maintained and updated to ensure compatibility and a modern appearance.

Mozilla emoji: what to know

My phone shows a different picture than this page
The set here comes from the newest Mozilla build we have on file. Older phones keep the drawings they shipped with, so open the matching version from the list below.

When do new emoji reach my device?
They travel with the system update, not with the app you type in. A character approved by Unicode this year usually lands on phones over the following one or two releases.

Can I take these pictures to another device?
Copy the emoji and it travels fine — the drawing does not. Paste it anywhere outside Mozilla and the local font redraws it.

Emojis from Mozilla Firefox OS 2.5 are displayed below.
