Deaf Person: Dark Skin Tone Emoji
What does the Deaf Person: Dark Skin Tone emoji mean?
A person with dark skin holding a finger to or near their ear typically signals hearing loss or difficulty hearing. The same gesture is also sometimes used to indicate that someone is listening.
This emoji shows a person pointing to their ear and is considered gender-neutral, unlike the deaf man and the deaf woman, which carry the same meaning.
It can be used literally to indicate deafness, or more figuratively to signal someone's unwillingness to listen, or to point out the noise around them that makes conversation and hearing difficult.
