The national flag is governed by the Pakistan Flag Rules, which were put in place in 2002 under Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali. Two letter symbols, 🇵 Regional Indicator Symbol Letter P and 🇰 Regional Indicator Symbol Letter K, make up the flag sequence here; older software may still print them separately.

The national flag of Pakistan is rectangular and rendered in deep green and white. A vertical white stripe at the hoist takes up one-quarter of the flag’s length, while the remaining three-quarters form a dark green field. Centered in that green area is a white thin moon next to a white star—symbols traditionally associated with Islam.
