Face Screaming in Fear Emoji
What does the Face Screaming in Fear emoji mean?
A face in plain yellow with a pale-blue forehead, hollow eyes, hands pressed to each side of the face, and a mouth wide open as if screaming, hence the name. Reminiscent of the famous painting The Scream, it’s usually used to express fear, but can also convey shocked surprise, disbelief, astonishment, or exhilaration.
This emoji is inspired by Edvard Munch’s world‑famous painting "The Scream." The face is painted in yellow and blue; the eyes are wide open but empty of pupils. The mouth gapes in a raw, frantic scream, and the hands pressed to the cheeks complete the terrified look.
Use this panicked face to express intense fear and fright. It’s also often used sarcastically to imply that things aren’t as scary as they first appear.
