A government Blue Ensign — with its badge (without the crown) placed in the fly — was granted a general warrant in 1997. It was originally issued in 1907 for the government-owned tug Duke of Normandy. Two letter symbols, 🇯 Regional Indicator Symbol Letter J and 🇪 Regional Indicator Symbol Letter E, make up the flag sequence here; older software may still print them separately.
