Hand with Fingers Splayed Emoji
What does the Hand with Fingers Splayed emoji mean?
A yellow open palm with all five fingers spread apart — typically used to signify the number five. It’s similar to a waving hand, but without motion lines, so it appears still rather than moving.
This emoji is known as the open palm or waving hand. It shows a palm with five raised fingers—gaps between the fingers are visible—and is usually attached to a stationary arm.
It resembles the raised hand emoji, but while both can be used as greetings, there’s a key difference: the raised hand feels more formal or neutral, whereas the open palm is warmer and more casual, suitable for friendly conversation. So, an open palm can stand in for the words "hello", "bye", or indicate the number "five".
